After the Parade we decided to take a tour of some the various Wats. A Tuk Tuk driver took us around for only 10 bhat, and all we had to do was make two stops at his 'sponsor stores' and look around, and he would drive us around town for the afternoon. The first stop... Continue Reading →
Getting around Bangkok
These are Tuk Tuks They are a great way to get around Bangkok, for a couple bhat (usually). One way to keep the price down is to allow thetuk tuk to take you to a store (usually a tailor) and all you have to do is look around for a few minutes, and suffer the... Continue Reading →

The best pineapple I have ever eaten
You are looking at the best pineapple I have ever eaten. Why did it taste so good? some say it is because of the juiciness, some say it is because of the sweetness, but if you ask me what made it sooo good was the rusty knife used to carve it. Rusty knives make pineapples... Continue Reading →

Wondrously Blank: A Plea for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
From ENN "The world would be far poorer, Aldo Leopold famously observed, “without a blank spot on the map.” Yet it wasn’t long ago that U.S. Senator Frank Murkowski from Alaska stood in the Senate chamber and declared indignantly that the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge was no more remarkable than a blank piece of paper.... Why all this debate over climate change?
From Climate Ark "Is climate change a terrible threat or a beat-up? A bang or a whimper? Perhaps it's something in between - an issue that humanity must face, but not yet. The media abound with evidence to support any of these views. Yet perusing that same media makes one thing clear: climate change is... Continue Reading →

Bush Aid Edited Climate Reports
From Carl Pope's Blog "A remarkable aspect of the Bush administration is that, for the most part, his apparatchiks have enough discipline to slip on the black leather gloves before doing their dirty work, so as not to leave fingerprints. So scientific reports get their conclusions altered and little regulations appear that turn out to... Continue Reading →
