According to Tom DeLay, the conservative position on climate change is to ignore the science and claim that it is arrogant to suggest that man can affect climate change.
So according to DeLay the IPCC the National Academies of Science from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, the Caribbean, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the USA, the American Meteorological Society, American Geophysical Union, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Geological Society of London, the Geological Society of America, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, thousands of peer-reviewed journals, and even the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, are not scientists.
In fact no scientific body of national or international standing is known to reject the basic findings of the human influence on the recent climate.
What definition of ‘science’ is DeLay using?
It is statements like these that perpetuate the stereotypes of uneducated, anti-science conservatives who put ideology ahead of reality.
Given that our dependence on petroleum is paying the paycheck of people who use Down-Syndrome women to carry out Islamofascist terrorist attacks on marketplaces, it would behoove us to begin switching to other sources of energy. Dontcha think? Our dependance on fossil fuels is getting rather played out.
You are absolutely right in pointing out that climate change is not the only reason we should be reducing our dependence on oil.
