Mae Sot

I expected Mae Sot to be a small border town, but it is actually a city about the size of Chiang Mai. It is not the most exiting place in Thailand, but the Municipal market is quite interesting. It is an assault on your senses (especially your sense of smell) as you see all sorts of foods, some raw, some prepared, and some still alive. Pretty much anything you need or want, you can get it at the market.

Every night near our guest house at a Chinese temple children of all ages practice playing the drums, for an upcoming celebration (maybe new years?)
